Uploading Your Structured Data
Once your structured files are ready, uploading them into Panoplai is simple.
Step 1: Initiate the Upload
-
Log in to your Panoplai account
-
Click Upload Data from the dashboard
-
Choose To My Studies
Step 2: Upload the Data Map
-
Upload your Data Map CSV
-
Panoplai will auto-detect variable types (question vs. demographic)
-
You can manually review/edit them if needed
Step 3: Upload the Dataset
-
Upload your Dataset CSV
-
Preview the data for formatting or alignment issues
Step 4: Moderate
-
Confirm that variables are mapped to the correct question type
- Review each question to ensure the response options/rows/columns are populating as desired
- Combine variables as needed (e.g. if you want to see multi-select responses all in the same chart, combine these into a single variable. This can also be done in the datamap before uploading).
You can assign key variables by clicking the down arrow on the left side of each question in the moderation view (See below).
Use this to:
- Mark a column as Respondent ID (RID)
- Assign a Timestamp
- Import Weights for analysis
This helps Panoplai accurately interpret and integrate your structured dataset into the dashboard and AI tools.
Step 5: Finalize
- Assign the title, language, description, tags, and category.
- Assign the audience name and country.
Note: When uploading structured data, be as descriptive as possible in the survey description—this helps Panoplai’s AI better interpret the purpose and context of your study.
Additionally, make sure your question and response labels are written as if a participant is seeing them. This improves the accuracy and clarity of AI-powered analysis.
You can update this labeling either:
- During the moderation stage, or
- After upload by editing directly in the Survey Builder
