Removing Responses with Data Cleanup

The Data Cleanup tool allows you to remove multiple respondents at once using their respondent IDs. This is especially useful if you’re reviewing data outside of Panoplai and want to quickly hide or remove a list of participants from your dashboard.

📍 Where to Find Data Cleanup

Within a study, go to the Download tab and select Raw Data, then choose Data Cleanup.

A modal will appear where you can paste in one or more respondent IDs.

🧹 Clean Up Options

When using Data Cleanup, you can assign respondent IDs to one of two statuses:

Hidden

• Responses will no longer appear in your data

• Respondents are still counted for payment

• You can restore hidden respondents later if needed

Failed

• Responses will be removed from your data

• Respondents will be reconciled out of payment

• This action cannot be undone, except by an admin

When to Use Each Status

• Hidden: Use when you’re still reviewing data, collaborating with teammates, or want the option to restore responses later.

• Failed: Use when you’re confident responses should be permanently excluded from your data and payment reconciliation.

Note: You remain financially responsible for participants unless they are set to Failed.

When to Use Data Cleanup

Data Cleanup is helpful when:

• You need to remove multiple respondents at once

• You’ve identified responses to remove during external analysis

• You want a faster alternative to removing respondents individually
