What is Plai?

Plai is Panoplai's intelligent AI research agent. It's built to accelerate every stage of the research lifecycle, from writing and programming surveys to coding open ends, generating concepts and claims, and drafting respondent messaging. Plai combines AI with proven research best practices, so your team gets better research, faster.

What makes it different

Most AI research agents will write a survey for you but stop there, leaving you to copy the questions into a separate programming tool. Plai does both: it writes the survey and programs it directly in Panoplai, ready to field. It's also been trained on market research best practices, so you won't get things like yes/no questions or out of order screeners the way a generic AI assistant might produce.

Plai is also a doer, not just a drafter. Beyond survey writing, a single instruction to Plai can execute tasks that would otherwise take you several clicks across the platform:

• Code open ended verbatims from one or more questions simultaneously
• Create an AI Conversation with a specific segment or study
• Generate study or question summaries
• Draft concept descriptions, claims, and respondent messaging
• Apply data cuts or create and apply banners and filters

How to use it

1. From the Panoplai homepage, tell Plai what you want to do — for example, “design a concept test for a new soft drink.”
2. Plai will ask any clarifying questions it needs, then start building. 
3. You can watch it work and provide feedback - all in real-time. 
4. Continue to iterate with Plai or take over at any time.

Good to know

1. Plai is included in your platform subscription. There's no additional cost beyond your platform fee.

2. If you're not sure where to start, try giving Plai a plain-language goal rather than a fully-formed spec; it will ask follow-up questions where it needs more detail.
