Create a Template for Your Organization
Templates make it faster and easier to launch consistent surveys across your organization. By saving frequently used surveys as templates, you ensure teams can start from a proven structure—without reinventing the wheel.
What Are Templates?
Templates are saved surveys that can be reused again and again. Whether you’re running trackers/wave studies or concept tests, templates help standardize your research approach.
Once a template is created, it’s available to everyone in your organization, ensuring speed, consistency, and alignment.
How to Create a Template
Admins can create a new template from any survey draft or completed survey:
-
Open the survey you’d like to use as the basis for your template.
-
Click Edit to go to the survey builder.
-
Confirm that your question wording, logic, and design are final.
-
In the upper-right corner of the survey builder, click the down arrow next to "Save".
-
Select Create a Template from the dropdown menu.
You’ll be taken to the Template editor to make any changes to your template before saving it. Here you'll want to give your template a name and a description to help others understand its intended use. Once your template is setup as desired, click Save to finish.
💡 Tip: Include key details in the name or description—like audience, use case, or language—to make it easier for your team to find the right template later.
Using a Template to Create a Survey
Once a template is saved, anyone can select it at the start of survey creation:
-
From the dashboard, click New Study.
-
Choose Copy from a Template.
-
Browse your organization’s templates or use the search bar to find one by name or keyword.
-
Click Create to open the survey builder with that template loaded and make any edits you need before launching your new survey.
Managing Templates
Admins can update or delete a template by going to the My Templates tab on the dashboard. From there, you can:
-
Rename a template
-
Edit the description/content
-
Edit questions or response options
-
Delete templates you no longer need
Note that any changes will not affect surveys already created from that template—they’ll remain unchanged.
