Can I Run Cross Tabs in Panoplai?

Yes — cross-tabs are built into Panoplai through our data cut functionality.

Panoplai allows you to:

  • Compare multiple segments side-by-side in charts
  • See statistical significance in table view
  • Add confidence intervals to better understand precision

To create a cross-tab:

  1. Click Cut by in the Charts tab of the Results view
  2. Choose the type of variable you want to cut by (e.g., Distribution, Demographic, or Question)
  3. Select your specific variable
  4. Click apply to generate segmented views
  5. Toggle to table view to add a confidence interval and see statistical significance

When to Use a Cross Tab

Let’s say you surveyed beverage preferences by gender. A cross-tab could show:

  • If men prefer coffee more than women
  • Whether women lean more toward juice

Cross-tabs are great for spotting patterns — but they show correlation, not causation.

While cross-tabs can provide valuable insights, they reveal correlations, not causations. Always consider other variables and avoid over-interpreting results based on a single cut.
